Rehousing of the Florin family
Rehousing of the Florin family
– a finished project
When NTS’s workers met the Florin family for the first time, the family consisted of mother and father, three children at the age 1½, 4 and 6 years old, and one more baby coming soon
They lived in a house belonging to the farm, where Florin and his wife wre taking care of the cattle. The income for this job was permission to live in this place, except from that they have no income.
The house was ramshackle, leaky and damp, the electrical installations were hanging visible and the water was running down the walls, and there was dry rot in the house. There was no toilet and the kitchen was an old rusty stove in the room that at the same time was the living room and bedroom. The children and the father suffered from airway problems due to the bad living conditions. The oldest of the children was supposed to go to school, but because of distance and lack of money that was not possible.
A project was started with the goal to rehouse this family.
A collection of money was started and the search for a better house began.
In the meantime NTC helped the family with clothes and blankets.
During the following year a house was found, negotiations took place and the paper work was done, and the house was bought and handed over to Florin.
It was successful and the family, that now counted 6 persons, moved to the village Cuceu.
In April 2011 NTC’s workers visited the family.
They were doing fine, they had cultivated the garden belonging to the house and were growing vegetables for the family.
The two oldest children can go to school in the village and they have a social network.
In the galley you can see pictures from the project.
