



Patâ Rat
Pata Rât is a gipsy community a few kilometers outside the city Cluj.
Here live approximately 750 people.
They literally live on top of an old dump, and they live in simple shacks without water, electricity or heating, and they live there summer and winter.
They have a little income from selling metal and plastic found at the dump, and many women live as prostitutes. The poverty and the social problems are huge in the community.
NTC works together with a local organisations to help this community, and have already donated clothes, blankets,things to be used for personal hygiene, cups, plates etc.
The local workers has among other things established a center, where a doctor comes on a regular basis and offers free consultation, and church services are held in the center.
Courses in personal hygiene is offered, the children can come and get food and the clothes donated, for example by NTC, to the community is being distributed from here,
In the summer they arrange summer camps for the children and youth, to give them and opportunity to get away from the daily surroundings for some day and have a good time.
At Christmas time food packages is given all the families in the area.
